Matter
Nearly ten years have passed, The grey still surrounds me,and I can hear the humming sound in my ears. The dust is settling and the smog is rising, Is this a place where I live or is it just a world in head. The sun has fallen, and I can barely see through the haze. The birds have gone, the animals graze in the city, Now and then I see a carcass on the belly of the earth, And I am not very far from home. And this amalgamation of changing demographics leaves behind a residue, Memory, representation, evidence – of what? A different life, a dream, objects with history that evoke so many reactions. The past too feels similar. A blanket of faith ingrained in my genes,Gods and goddess still surround me. It feels like someone is draining the colour out of our history, Exposed to the impartial noon rays, a devious plot. My spirit lingers in the absence of colour. In the beginning my mind wandered into matter, As time passed I chose to surrender to the mundane. Is it a death of a civilisation or genesis of an evolution.
